Additive Manufacturing

SPONSORED BY:

What is it?

Additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing, is the innovative skill of creating components and products by building them layer by layer from digital models. It combines design, engineering, and advanced materials technology to produce lightweight, precise, and cost-effective solutions for industries such as aerospace, automotive, healthcare, and product design. This process requires technical knowledge of CAD software, machine operation, and material properties, along with problem-solving and creativity to optimise designs for performance and efficiency. As one of the fastest-growing areas in modern manufacturing, additive manufacturing is transforming how products are developed, prototyped, and produced.
